1. Introduction

Welcome to Seamstress Room. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, seamstressroom.com, and the services we provide, including tailoring, alterations, dressmaking, repairs, consultations, appointments, and the sale of products through our online shop.

By accessing or using our website, booking services, or purchasing products, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.

3. Services

Seamstress Room provides tailoring, alterations, dressmaking, garment repairs, laundry and ironing services, consultations, and related textile services.

All services are subject to availability and acceptance.

We reserve the right to refuse service where a request is impractical, unsafe, unlawful, or beyond our expertise.

4. Appointments

Booking

Appointments may be booked online, by telephone, email, or in person.

Attendance

Customers should arrive at their scheduled appointment time. Late arrival may reduce the available consultation time or require rescheduling.

Cancellations

We request at least 24 hours' notice for appointment cancellations where possible.

Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may result in refusal of future bookings or the requirement of a booking deposit.

5. Quotations and Pricing

All quotations are estimates based on information available at the time.

Where additional work becomes necessary after inspection of a garment or item, we will inform the customer before proceeding where reasonably possible.

Prices are displayed in Euro (€) and may be updated without notice.

The price agreed at the time of order confirmation will apply to that order.

6. Deposits

For custom dressmaking, bespoke garments, wedding attire, or substantial alteration projects, a deposit may be required before work begins.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

  • Deposits are non-refundable once materials have been ordered or work has commenced.

  • Deposits will be credited toward the final invoice.

7. Garment Alterations and Tailoring

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information regarding requested alterations.

  • Attending fittings when required.

  • Inspecting garments upon collection.

While every effort is made to achieve the desired result, alteration outcomes may vary depending on:

  • Fabric condition

  • Garment construction

  • Previous alterations

  • Material limitations

Seamstress Room cannot guarantee that every requested alteration is technically achievable.

8. Collection of Items

Customers will be notified when work is completed.

Completed items should be collected within a reasonable period.

Unless otherwise agreed, items left uncollected for more than six months may be disposed of, donated, recycled, or otherwise dealt with at our discretion after reasonable attempts to contact the customer.

9. Customer Property

We exercise reasonable care when handling garments and customer property.

However, we are not responsible for:

  • Hidden weaknesses in fabrics.

  • Damage resulting from age, wear, deterioration, moth damage, or previous repairs.

  • Manufacturer defects.

  • Colour fading, shrinkage, or fabric changes caused by normal cleaning processes where risks have been disclosed.

Customers should inform us of any known issues with garments before work begins.

10. Online Shop Orders

Product Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure product descriptions, images, and pricing are accurate.

Colours displayed on screens may vary from actual products.

Availability

All products are subject to availability.

If an item becomes unavailable after purchase, we will contact you to arrange a replacement, alternative, or refund.

Order Acceptance

An order is not considered accepted until payment has been processed and confirmation has been issued.

11. Payment

Payment may be accepted through approved payment methods displayed on the website.

Full payment is generally required:

  • Before dispatch of online orders.

  • Upon collection of completed tailoring or alteration work unless otherwise agreed.

Failure to make payment may result in retention of goods until payment is received where permitted by law.

12. Returns and Refunds

Services

Due to the personalised nature of tailoring, alterations, and custom-made items, refunds may not be available once work has been completed unless required by applicable consumer protection law.

If you believe a service has not been performed correctly, please contact us promptly so we can review and, where appropriate, rectify the issue.

Products

Customers may have statutory rights under Irish and European consumer law regarding returns and refunds.

For eligible online purchases, return requests should be made within 14 days of receipt unless an exemption applies.

Custom-made or personalised items may not qualify for cancellation or return rights.

13. Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers:

  • Cannot be exchanged for cash.

  • Must be redeemed before any stated expiry date.

  • May only be used for services or products offered by Seamstress Room.

Lost, stolen, or damaged vouchers may not be replaceable.

14. Website Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the website for unlawful purposes.

  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to website systems.

  • Introduce viruses or malicious software.

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute website content without permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or restrict access where misuse is detected.

15. Intellectual Property

All website content, including text, graphics, photographs, logos, designs, and branding, is owned by or licensed to Seamstress Room unless otherwise stated.

16. Limitation of Liability
